Grant Programme

Our grant programme aims to support the development of regions and municipalities both in the vicinity and further away from Gas Storage CZ gas storage facilities through financial donations. By providing regionally oriented assistance, the company has long contributed to the growth of civil society and the creation of good neighbourly relations, thus committing to the concept of social responsibility. The support is focused on regional education, sport, charity, humanitarian and social aid, culture and environmental protection.

In 2024, we received a total of 22 applications for a financial donation. Fifteen projects were selected to receive financial support in the total amount of CZK 2,295,000. After the devastating floods in Moravia, the company provided additional assistance in the amount of CZK 649,331 to support the intervention units of the volunteer fire brigades around the Lobodice and Štramberk reservoirs.

The maximum amount of the donation for one entity is CZK 1,000,000.

Conditions

Grant applications are usually evaluated once a year, after the application deadlines, usually at the end of March of the current year. Each project is assessed according to the established criteria.

The grant program is open to the following entities:

  1. State-funded organisations,

  2. Associations, institutes, social cooperatives,

  3. Public benefit companies,

  4. Special purpose church facilities,

  5. Foundation and endowment funds,

  6. Municipalities.

Basic Criteria for Evaluating Applications

  1. Locations

When approving an application, the location of the project is considered, i.e. where the project is to be implemented. Projects in the immediate vicinity of the reservoirs are prioritised; however, the grant programme is also open to projects from further afield.

  2. The degree of impact on the surroundings
We have an interest in ensuring that grant funding is used as effectively as possible and benefits as many people as possible. As part of this criterion, the panel considers how many people would directly benefit from the project.

  3. Benefits of the grant
The more tangible the benefit of the project to the public, the more points the application receives. We prioritize projects with a concrete impact.

Example: A project for the construction of a playground in the municipality has a greater chance of success under this criterion than a project to conduct a study of whether residents would like a new playground.

  4. The applicant's activity
Applicants who are willing to participate in the project are given preference in the application process. However, it is not just about financial participation. It is in our company's interest that citizens themselves become actively involved in the implementation of projects.

Grant Procedure

  1. Grant announcement and application procedure
The announcement of the grant includes the conditions for obtaining the grant, the criteria and evaluation rules, the timetable and the total amount to be awarded. The announcement of the grant is entirely within the competence of our company, which also determines all the criteria for obtaining the grant. The grant is announced through our website or by contacting municipalities directly. Applications are usually accepted until the end of March of the current year. Projects are subject to evaluation by the grant panel and approval by the relevant bodies of the company. All applicants for a financial donation will receive information about the outcome of the assessment via email after a decision has been made on their application.

  2. Grant settlement
