When you register, submit a contact enquiry, etc., you may voluntarily make personal data available to us. This may mean we have to communicate your data to a Group member company. You will be advised of this at the appropriate point. The use of these applications may be subject to conditions that differ from this Privacy Information. We will expressly draw your attention to this by way of additional privacy clauses. Web analysis and web optimization using Cookies and tracking pixels
We use Cookies and tracking technologies on our websites. These are used to optimise our website, to refine our services and for marketing purposes. The following describes these technologies and how they work.
When you visit one of our websites, we store information on your computer in the form of a cookie, which we automatically recognise on your next visit. Cookies are text files that are stored either in your web browser, or by your web browser on your computer. Viewing a website may store a cookie on your operating system. This cookie contains a characteristic sequence of characters that enable the browser to be clearly identified when the website is viewed again.
Using cookies helps us to give you unrestricted use of our website. They let us ensure your visit to our website is as convenient as possible. For example, they help us to adapt a website to your interests, or save your username to avoid the need to enter it again every time you visit.
We also use tracking pixels on our website. Tracking pixels are small graphics on websites that enable log files to be recorded and analysed. When you visit a website, tracking pixels record information in the cookie file in your browser. Using pixels lets us show you targeted information and content.
Our websites give you the option of viewing and adjusting our cookie and pixel settings. Please note that certain cookies and pixels are required for technical reasons to ensure our website continues to function correctly.
We make use of processors as per Art. 4 no. 8 GDPR for the operation and use of cookies. In some circumstances the processors may have access to your personal data that is gathered and processed using cookies and pixels.
See here for an overview of the cookies and pixels used on our websites, the data processed in each case and the relevant recipients.
Gas Storage CZ uses cookies and pixels of the following categories:
Essential cookies and pixels
Essential cookies serve to maintain the technically sound operation of our website. They ensure the stability of the website. You can see which essential cookies we use from our full List of Cookies and Pixels, available here.
The data collected about you in this way is pseudonymised by technical measures to ensure it can no longer be traced back to you. This data is not stored with other personal details we collect from you. When you access one of our websites, you will be informed via a banner message about our use of cookies and also referred to this Data Protection Information. In addition, reference will be made in this context to the method you can use to block the storage of cookies in your browser settings.
This processing of your aforementioned data is necessary to safeguard the legitimate interests of Gas Storage pursuant to article 6 paragraph 1f GDPR and is justified by balancing the respective interests in favor of Gas Storage CZ. Without using this data, some functions of our internet presence cannot be offered. It is essential for this process that the browser is also recognisable after you have switched pages. We also have a legitimate interest in processing your aforementioned personal data; namely to communicate relevant information about our intentions and business activities by operating its own websites in accordance with their intended function. Your justifiable interest that the aforementioned data is not used for this purpose does not outweigh the legitimate interest of Gas Storage CZ, since Gas Storage CZ uses this data appropriately and in accordance with the stated purpose and you also have an interest in being able to access our website in a customer-friendly manner.
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data on the basis of a balancing of interests, if your particular situation provides grounds for objection. Please refer to the section on objections in this regard.
Analytical cookies
In addition, we use cookies on our website that enable us to analyse the browsing behaviour of our users. Analytical cookies help us analyse the website and thus measure and improve the performance of our webpages. In this context we use cookies for the purpose of “reach measurement”. We use these cookies to create statistical profiles which cannot be traced back to individual users, but merely to groups. They are used to analyse visitor and click behaviour as well as demographic characteristics of website users. The cookie and pixel list, which can be viewed here, provides information about the analytical cookies we use and from there you can also opt out of all or specific cookies and pixels being used when you visit our website. Data that is collected from you in this way is pseudonymised by technical processes, making it impossible to reallocate the collected data back to you. We do not store this data together with any other, personal data that you provide to us. When accessing our websites, an information banner is displayed, informing you about the use of cookies and referring to this data privacy policy. In this context we also provide information as to how the use of cookies can be blocked through the settings of your web browser.
When accessing our websites, our “cookie banner” with information on the use of analytical cookies is displayed, asking for your consent pursuant to article 6 paragraph 1a GDPR to process the personal data collected in this context. During this process, you are also referred to this data privacy policy. The legal basis for us to process personal data for analytical purposes using cookies and pixels is your consent.
You are entitled to withdraw this consent at any time with future effect. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. The easiest way to withdraw your consent is to set the relevant opt-out cookie/pixel via our cookie and pixel list here.
Non-essential cookies and pixels
Non-essential cookies and pixels include marketing cookies, social media cookies and the LinkedIn Insight Tag for conversion tracking. When you view our websites, our “cookie banner” will be displayed, showing information on the use of non-essential cookies, and you will be asked for your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para 1 (a) GDPR to process the personal data collected in this context.
Marketing cookies help us to personalise ads displayed on your device within and outside of czgs.cz. See the list of cookies and pixels here for details of the marketing cookies we use.
In this context we also use cookies for the purpose of “remarketing”, “retargeting” or “lookalike retargeting”. Once it has the relevant information, the cookie makes it possible to recognise your browser again and show you ads from external websites you have visited previously (“retargeting”). In addition, “statistical twins” of the original cookie profiles are identified and targeted based on accumulated cookie information. This process is called lookalike retargeting.
In this context we also use a “dynamic tracking system”. This is intended to identify services from different advertising channels of the web shop. When you visit our web shop, data from your browser is collected for statistical analysis. The data is passed on to various technical and statistical service providers so they can process it on our behalf. Data collection takes place via a pixel that is embedded on each web shop page.
We also use cookies in this context for “behavioural advertising”. On our websites, data with usage information (e.g. websites visited, number of visits, times of visits, time spent on individual pages) is stored in cookies on your hard drive. These usage profiles are anonymised and analysed using a technical (statistical) process, so that the selection of Internet advertisements (e.g. banners) can be based on your interests when you visit other websites later. Behavioural targeting is provided by third-party companies listed here that also provide advertising services for websites of other suppliers. These third-party companies then use cookies to compile the user profiles described above and select relevant data for user-driven advertising via their own targeting systems.
Social media cookies enable you to connect directly to your social media account if and when required. This is a convenient way for you to share websites and post comments in social networks. See the list of cookies and pixels here for details of the cookies we use, and the opportunity to opt out of all or specific cookies and pixels.
We also use cookies for social media targeting. With these cookies, we can exchange data with social media companies (e.g. Google or Facebook) using a hash value in order to display personalised content for you in banners and ads. Neither we nor our service providers can identify you based on the data. Behavioural targeting takes place in three stages: data collection via “tracking pixels”, storage and processing of log file information, and finally using this information when you return, for retargeting or lookalike retargeting.
On our website we also use the LinkedIn Insight Tag for conversion tracking from LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (Attn: Legal Dept., Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland; “LinkedIn”). The LinkedIn Insight Tag places a unique LinkedIn browser cookie (conversion cookie) in your browser, which enables the following data to be gathered: metadata such as your IP address, timestamp, and page events (e.g. page views). These cookies are valid for only a limited period. If you visit particular pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and LinkedIn can tell that you have clicked on the advertisement and were redirected to this page. The LinkedIn Insight Tag also enables LinkedIn to gather data on visits to our website, including URL, page views, IP address, device and browser properties, and timestamp. LinkedIn then deletes this remaining pseudonymised data within 90 days. LinkedIn shares no personal data with us, providing only summarised reports on the target website group and the advertisement service. LinkedIn members can set how their personal data is used for advertising purposes in their account settings. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to draw up conversion statistics. These tell us the total number of users who clicked on one of our advertisements and were redirected to a page containing a conversion tracking tag.
Your consent is required for data processing, particularly the setting of cookies. You are entitled to withdraw this consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. See https://www.linkedin.com/legal/cookie-policy and https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy for further information on cookies and LinkedIn’s own privacy policy.
Non-essential cookies/pixels are only activated and transmit data if you have given your consent to do so via the settings in the cookie law banner. When you view our websites, our “cookie banner” will be displayed, showing information on the use of non-essential cookies, and you will be asked for your consent to process the personal data used in this context. During this process, you will also be referred to this Privacy Information. Your consent provides the legal basis for us to process personal data using non-essential cookies and pixels.
You are entitled to withdraw this consent to use your personal data at any time with future effect. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. The easiest way to withdraw your consent is to set the relevant opt-out cookie/pixel via our cookie and pixel list here.
